She has worked as a counsel in various law firms, published articles about rights of women and children, and litigated over 100 cases on rape and violence against women and girls.

She is a mediator and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC). As an expert in Green Horizon she has trained TRs and paralegals. She has also led a team of Green Horizon consultants for evaluation of the Jigawa State Community Law Centres and trained its staff on Law, Human Rights and ADR under DFID-funded Justice for All (J4A) programme. She was one of the facilitators for the domestication of the National Gender Policy in Jigawa State.

She has served as Lead Consultant for Strengthening state Community action to address Gender based Violence in Adamawa and Kano States under the Women Right Advancement and Protection Alternative (WRAPA), supported by RoLac; Lead Consultant who coordinated the Establishment and Operation of Additional Channels/Access Points for SGBV Victims under WRAPA supported by RoLac; Member Validation Committee of the Rules of ACJL to Improve Speedy Dispensation of Corruption Cases; Member Drafting Committee of Kano State Muslim Code of Personal Status; and Member Validation Committee of the Kano State Child Protection Bill.

She is active in civil society organization concerned with the rights of women and children. She is a member and has served as the Secretary and subsequently as the Chairperson of International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Kano State Branch. She has also served as Chairperson Observatory Committee on Violence against Women and Girls (OBSTEC), and as Member NBA 2022 Electoral Appeals Committee.

She is Chairperson of the Coalition against Rape and Violence (CARAV), Member of Women Peace and Security Network (WPS), Member Kano State Civil Society Forum (KCSF), Member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
