Peace Building and Transitional Justice
Green Horizon provides services to support peace-building and transitional justice in conflict affected regions. Its work in this area has been delivered in form of research, training, facilitation of dialogues and reconciliation, strategic communication, reconciliation, development of transitional justice frameworks, and other supportive interventions. GH has worked on aspects of peacebuilding and transitional justice across the Boko Haram conflict affected States of North East Nigeria.
- Baseline of Justice Institutions in Kano and Jigawa States for the Justice Reform Commission/Team in the two States, funded by the Security, Justice and Growth Programme (SJG), a DFID funded programme.
- Justice Indicators for Jigawa Courts (for Annual Performance Review of the Jigawa State Judiciary)
- Assessment of the Informal Justice Systems in Jigawa State (inception stage), for the DFID-BC Justice for all programme
- Impact Measurement on the Capacity Building of Traditional Rulers in Dutse and Sakwaya Districts of Dutse Emirate Council, supported by Justice for All Programme
- Evaluation of the Jigawa Community Law Centres (performance of nine Centres), funded by the Jigawa State Justice Sector Reform Team
- Pre-treatment survey of legal aid needs in Kaduna State for the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria under the World Bank funded project
- Mapping of Indigenous Systems of Justice, Reconciliation and Healing in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States, funded by Managing Conflicts in Nigeria (MCN), BC-EU programme
