Aisha Ado Abdullahi has a law degree and master’s in business and commercial law from Bayero University Kano, Nigeria. She also obtained her barrister at law degree from the Nigerian Law school. She has about two decades of working experience as a lawyer and consultant in law and development matters working under the business name of Green Edge Attorneys (law firm) which she founded in 2007. She is engaged in full-time General law practice (as a Barrister and Solicitor).
She is one of the founding Directors of Green Horizon Development Consultancy and Green Horizon Institute of Training and Research. She is currently the Legal and ADR consultant in Abuja Chamber of commerce and Industry, setting up and heading the Nigerian Chambers of Commerce dispute Resolution Center. She is a serving member to the Abuja Chamber of Commerce Governing Council. She is currently serving as the Registrar of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators Nigeria, as well as a member of the training faculty of the institute.
Aisha is the current membership and communications officer of the International Bar Association Mediation Committee, having previously served as a co-chair of the young mediators committee and as the immediate past diversity and inclusion officer.
Aisha served as a member of Council of Legal Education representing Nigeria Bar Association 2015 – 2018. She’s been serving the Nigerian Bar Association in different capacities- as the National Financial Secretary 2012 – 2014, National Treasurer 2016 – 2018, served and currently serving in various committees.
She is on the panel of neutrals in the Nigerian Chamber of Commerce Dispute Resolutions Center, Kano and Abuja multi-door court houses and also a member of the Online Dispute Resolution Collage of Neutrals of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators Nigeria. She is a member of the Chartered institute of Arbitrators UK (Nigeria Branch).
She also served as a member of a team of consultants for the development and domestication of the National Gender policy for Jigawa State funded by the Jigawa State Ministry of Women Affairs in November 2011. Along with leading numerous law reform and conflict management engagements of the Green Horizon (GH), she also served as GH expert for Traditional Justice System training in Jigawa State; the intervention on conflict management and transitional justice of the Presidential Committee on the Northeast Initiative (PCNI) in the Northeastern States of Nigeria. Aisha also provided strategic planning support for the Steering Committees of the Sexual Assault Referral Centers (SARCs) in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States under the EU’s MCN programme.
